China records uptick in new subtype of Omicron variant, records over 13,000 cases

China has added over 13,146 new cases of people getting infected by the variant of the COVID-19 infection on Sunday. As per the sources, it has been the new subtype of the Omicron variant.

It has been the highest number from the time since the nation’s first wave set a record over two years before, says the health authorities.

The figures that have been shared include 1455 patients that are carrying the symptoms as well as 11,691 asymptomatic cases, the Chinese National Health Commission mentioned in the statement. Till now, no deaths have been reported.

The municipal government mentioned the case in Dalian city in northern China has noticed on Friday, April 1. Also, it did not match any of the COVID-19 infection that has been discovered domestically.

Moreover, approximately 12,000 of the cases that were reported around the globe on Saturday that was labeled asymptomatic.

The Commission has stated that the highly contagious Omicron variant had increased to over a dozen provinces.
