In a significant shift for Belgium’s automotive event scene, the Brussels Auto Show will be rebranded as the Belgium Auto Show and relocated to Ghent starting next year.
The new name and venue reflect a strategic move by 402 Automotive, the Dutch company responsible for organizing the event.
The Brussels Auto Show, which had replaced the traditional Auto Salon in January 2024, was introduced after the Belgian Automobile Federation (FEBIAC) announced it would not be organizing the annual motor exhibition that year.
FEBIAC’s decision was a response to shifting market dynamics and a need to rethink the format of automotive showcases.
However, FEBIAC has since decided to revive the Brussels Motor Show, scheduling it for January 10-19, 2025.
In contrast, the newly named Belgium Auto Show, under the stewardship of 402 Automotive, will take place from March 7 to 9, 2025, at the Flanders Expo in Ghent.
Ronald van den Broek, CEO of 402 Automotive, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event. “We are thrilled to announce that more than 90% of our online respondents have indicated their intention to attend the second edition of the Belgium Auto Show.
This strong interest reinforces our belief that relocating to Ghent and rebranding the event will be a successful move,” van den Broek stated in a press release.
The inaugural Belgium Auto Show attracted 122,000 visitors, a testament to its appeal despite not being primarily aimed at car buyers.
The 2025 edition will implement a daily attendance cap of 30,000 to manage crowd sizes and enhance visitor experience. This move aims to balance accessibility with quality, ensuring a manageable and engaging event for all attendees.
In addition to showcasing the latest car models and automotive innovations, the Belgium Auto Show will feature a new attraction: an outdoor ‘Action Arena.’
This area will host rally car demonstrations, stunts, and drift shows, providing a dynamic and interactive experience for motor enthusiasts.
The decision to relocate to Flanders Expo in Ghent aligns with the event’s goals of expanding its reach and enhancing its appeal.
Ghent, with its ample facilities and accessible location, offers a promising new setting for the event, potentially attracting a broader audience from across Belgium and beyond.
