Flanders overflown with demand of booster dose among teenagers amid vaccine crisis

In Belgium, the booster shots for the young ones between the age of 12 and 17 have not received consent from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or Belgium’s Superior Health Council yet. The issue related to the vaccination jabs is still not solved for weeks in Flanders.

Moreover, the maximum number of individuals who wanted to receive the extra dose of the vaccination, the people are not able to get the shot due to the shortage in vaccines. The winter vacations of the people have also been compromised.

As per the information provided by the sources, the Flemish Government has all the responsibility of the issues under their control and will make sure that the third dose of the booster dose will be provided to youth voluntarily. Getting the shot of vaccination will help the under 18 to have a trip to the nations without facing any problems, including Austria or Italy.

The Flemish Region of Belgium has declared that the teenagers that are part of the Brussels-Capital Region or Wallonia can have the booster dose in the region itself. There are some vaccination centres where there are insufficient vaccines, and the call has created a major concern at the centres.

However, a representative for Flemish Health Minister Wouter Beke, Bart Croes, mentioned, “The decision related to vaccinating Walloon and Brussels youngsters was already taken into account in the last week, but still there were some of the matter to look upon.”

Along with this, the majority of the vaccination centres all over the Capital Region have made it crystal clear that the vaccination shots will only be provided to their citizens. There are not many vaccines to give the booster shots to other people (another nation resident), according to the information provided by the mayor of Zaventem, Ingrid Holemans.
