Dominica introduces two female cricketers for ICC U-19 Women’s Cricket World Cup in South Africa

Dominica: Sports Division, Dominica announced two Dominican Female Cricketers selected to participate in the Inaugural ICC under 19 Cricket World Cup of Women in South Africa. 

Dominican female cricketers on the West Indies under 19 women’s team. The Sports Division took to their official social media account and highlighted in the statement the Dominican female cricketers left the state yesterday, on January 1, 2023, for South Africa to participate in the Under 19 Cricket World Cup. 

Both the female players, Abini St.Jean and Earnisha Fontaine, left the state on January 2, 2023, to join the West Indies Under 19 female Cricket team, which will be participating in the ICC 19 Women’s Cricket World Cup in South Africa. 

 The two were seen in a picture at the Douglas Charles airport prior to departure. They further stated in the statement, “We wish them well on tour.” 

Along with this, Oscar George, Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports as well as Community Development with specific responsibility for Youth and Sports, is a former student-athlete, has the full responsibility for the sports was on hand to share support with the young cricketers as well as wished them good luck on tour. 

Moreover, he also addressed both the female cricketers with PS Blackmoore, Sports Coordinator Trevor Shillingford as well as the Dominica Cricket Association president Glen Joseph. 

The two have left the state for the match in South Africa on January 1, 2023. They wished good wishes to both of them.
