Brussels to look into strange death of 60-year-old lady in commune of Saint-Gilles

Brussels, Belgium: Police in Brussels is looking at the strange death of a 60-year-old lady in the commune of Saint-Gilles. According to a prosecutor’s office representative, the death was staged to seem to be a suicide.

When the woman was spotted hanging from the balcony of her fourth-floor flat on Wednesday, residents of the commune called the police.

Public Prosecutor Willemien Baert stated, “We can affirm that on October 12, 2022, at 1.30 pm, the police of the Brussels South zone were requested to determine a hanging.”

“Police came and discovered the victim, a 60-year-old lady born in 1962, had passed away. A number of inquiries were authorized and called the Brussels prosecutor’s office, “She shared the information.

While the coroner and the forensics team arrived at the scene, police set up a perimeter. The prosecutor’s office appointed an examining magistrate to direct the probe into potential wrongdoing in the meantime.

Apparently, the woman’s husband has been arrested, according to reports. The legal services, however, opted not to confirm or refute his claimed participation. It stated in a statement that “the judicial inquiry is proceeding to determine the full facts.”
