Member of the European Parliament(MEP)- Elena Kountoura took to her official Facebook account and shared her intervention on child abuse during her interview.
She is the ex-Minister of Tourism and resigned on May 3, 2019, in order to participate in the elections of the European Parliament in the Cabinet of Alexis Tsipras.
Before Elena Kountoura made the decision to be a part of politics, she was an international model. Also she was the director of the women’s magazine as well as a track-and-field athlete.
Along with this, she mentioned in the statement that prevention and address of child abuse require holistic legislative treatment and a unified institutional framework for child protection with full coordination of all state mechanisms.
Child protection helps to decrease their vulnerability in a dangerous situations. Moreover, it also indicated the safety of young ones against psychological, emotional and social insecurity as well as distress.
Along with this, she also shared the post of Alexis Tsipras, which stated that “Blue grasshoppers apply to public wealth.” In addition, the nation is, unfortunately, going through a painful crisis with the responsibility of the Mitsotakis government. The rich get richer, The middle-class poor and the desperately poor.
At the same time, the whirlwind of blue grasshoppers forms public wealth. These frightening inequalities cannot continue. The country needs political change before a painful winter hits the entire Greek society.
Earlier, during the 7th Cancer Conference, she presented her intervention in cancer treatment. Elena said, “We must expedite Europe and nationally for equal access for all citizens to optimal cancer treatment services: from prevention and routine checkpoints to early treatment and treatment.”
Furthermore, as the Guest speaker, she updated on the role of the European Parliament in ensuring the implementation of its ambitious cancer policy in the European Union.
