President Biden is willing to meet Prez Putin, says Blinken

On 20 February, Sunday, the President of the United States is willing to have a meet-up with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, “At any time, in any format” if that can help in avoiding the war in Ukraine, mentioned the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Meanwhile, he said during an interview, “We believe President Putin has made the decision” to attack Ukraine, “But until the tanks are actually rolling, and the planes are flying, we will use every opportunity & every minute we have to see if diplomacy can still dissuade President Putin from carrying this forward.”

Along with this, since the previous few days, the Western officials has alerted that Moscow has been sharing wrong information related to the campaign against Ukraine to explain the war, and on Sunday, during the phone call conversation with the President of France Emmanuel Macron, Putin again made the allegations about the “Ukrainian provocations” for the escalation of conflict in eastern Ukraine between pro-Russian separatists.

Meanwhile, according to the reports, Putin mentioned that he wanted to strengthen the diplomatic efforts to settle down the war. Kremlin said, during the discussion, Putin has been questioned by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) as well as the United States to take the security demands of Russia very seriously.

According to the sources, these demands lie at the heart of the present tensions between Moscow and the West. Russia wants Nato to block its borders to former Soviet bloc countries, including Ukraine, among other things.

Furthermore, on Sunday, in a statement, Elysée mentioned that both the presidents’ Macron and Putin, have decided to attempt a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine.
