United States: American rapper, record producer, and actor Coolio also known as Artis Leon Ivey Jr., officially famous for the huge hit song, “Gangsta Paradise,” dies at the age of 59 on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
The manager of the US rapper, Jarez Posey, shared the information with the artist and was found unresponsive in the bathroom of a friend’s house in Los Angeles.
Coolio began his music-making career in 1989 as well was famously known for his super hit song ‘Gangsta Paradise’ in 1995.
Along with this, the exact cause of the sudden death of the famous rapper Coolio on Wednesday has not been very clear thus far.
Meanwhile, Mr Posey shared the information that paramedics believed he may have had a cardiac arrest, which was first reported on the news.
Coolio won a Grammy for Gangsta’s Paradise, part of the soundtrack for Dangerous Minds starring Michelle Pfeiffer.
As per the official website, the haunting track continues to be widely listened to as well as has just passed a billion streams on audio streaming and media services application “Spotify”.
The 59-year-old American rapper recorded eight studio albums as well as won an American Music Award and three MTV Video Music Awards over a career transiting four decades.
Along with this, his other hits included Fantastic Voyage, Rollin’ With My Homies 1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New), and Too Hot.
He was active until his death, Coolio was in the middle of a tour with other 90s stars, such as Vanilla Ice and Young MC, who performed in Texas just a few days ago.
In his tribute, Snoop Dogg paid his last respects to Coolio with his world-famous track: “Gangstas paradise. R I P.”
Furthermore, he also shared a picture of the two posing on the music video set for Gangsta Walk, a track they collaborated on in 2006.
