Hobart Village Board honors Fire Chief Jerry Lancelle for his service

Australia: The Hobart Village Board honored Fire Chief Jerry Lancelle for his service to the community at its December 20, Tuesday meeting. Village of Hobart – Government Page shared the infomation of the December 20th Hobart Village Board Recap. 

They took to their official social media account and highlighted in the statement, “He has served on the Department since 1986, and as chief since 2012, both record-setting tenures. The Board unanimously approved a resolution recognizing his service to the community.”

The Board also approved a resolution setting the 2023 fee schedule. The only changes for next year are the removal of the Pine Tree Park Shelter fee (as it no longer exists) and the clarification of a replacement dog tag fee ($5). 

A resolution requesting Brown County share its sale and use tax with local municipalities was not adopted by the Board. The Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Green Bay, the Green Bay Water Utility, the Village of Pulaski, and the Village of Hobart, the purpose of which is to provide the framework for the continuation of the development of a written wholesale water service agreement between Green Bay and Pulaski for the sale and delivery of potable water by Green Bay to Pulaski.

A proposal to replace the current weapons inventory for the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department was approved. The 15 new Staccato 2011 handguns and related expenses will cost $29,268, financed with existing, unspent 2022 budget funds. 

A corresponding approval from the Lawrence Town Board is needed to complete the purchase, with the guns scheduled to be delivered in early 2023. 

The Board also approved the purchase of a Snowplow Chassis as part of a plan to replace our current 2007 International plow. The 2025 Freightliner 114SD Chassis will cost $123,750. The snow plow replacement is being funded in the 2023 Capital Projects Fund, and the chassis purchase was within the budgeted amount. 

The Board also approved the FY2023 Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water Budgets and accepted a petition to lower the speed limit on a portion of Trout Creek Road. The petition was assigned to the Public Works Utilities and Advisory Committee for review and recommendation in early 2023.

The Board also welcomed a new Police Chief, as well as gave the green light to proceeding with the construction of a new fire station, replacing the current facility on South Pine Tree Road. Following a closed session, the Board approved a one-year extension of the Option to Purchase with KES Commercial Properties LLC for the Village property HB-5503 (4758 Forest Road), with the purchase price to be the cost of the demolition and cleanup of the parcel to be paid in its entirety by the purchaser.
