United Kingdom logs 104 fresh cases of monkeypox: Reports

Europe: The United Kingdom have recently recorded 104 new cases of monkeypox virus. The recent spike in cases raised the overall tally to 470 cases. Most of the cases have been detected in gay or bisexual men, as per the sources.

It is the biggest outbreak of disease beyond Africa. Out of the total cases in the United Kingdom, 99 percent have been recorded in men, while most of the people that have been infected are in London. The health authorities have stated that in despite of sexual orientation, individuals should avoid not physical contact with an infected person.

The previous month, the World Health Organisation (WHO) mentioned that the disease spread in Europe due to sex at two recent raves in Spain and Belgium, as per the sources. As per the World Health Organisation, more than 1,200 monkeypox cases were detected all over 28 nations until the last week.

Moreover, notably, no deaths have been recorded because of the disease outside Africa. Apart from the United Kingdom, other nations where a large number of monkeypox cases have been detected are Spain, Germany and Canada.

As per to the World Health Organisation, the majority of the people who have been infected with the virus have “Atypical features”. It makes it difficult for doctors to diagnose the disease. Meanwhile, it is still unclear how the disease is spread through sexual bodily fluids, including semen and vaginal fluids.
