The Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium organised a Charity Event in Arlon, Belgium, on Saturday, November 4, 2023 and Sunday, November 5, 2023. The Event was held under the Solidarity of Ukraine project.
Solidarity for Ukraine is a project created by Ukrainian Natalia Kapanadze and her Belgian husband, Rudy Kirschenbilder, in 2016. The Project was launched to provide support to Ukraine in the wake of the Russian armed invasion of Ukraine that has been going on since 2014.
After the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine, with the assistance of Solidarity for Ukraine, a significant amount of humanitarian aid was sent to Ukraine.
Local authorities have supported the Project. Natalia Kapanadze also assisted Ukrainians forced to move to Arlon after February 24, 2022.
As per the Embassy, the creative program of the evening was intense and included several fascinating artistic performances, including performances by Ukrainian music and dance groups.
Temporary Trustee for Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium Natalia Anoshina expressed her sincere gratitude to Natalia Kapanadze and Rudy Kirchenbilder, representatives of the Solidarity for Ukraine project.
She also expressed her gratitude to the whole Ukrainian community in Arlon, the residents of the city, and Belgians for their relentless support of Ukraine and Ukrainians and the active promotion of Ukrainian culture and education in Belgium.
It’s important to note that in arloní Acts, the director is sofíâ balich. The school was created in 2015 by indifferent parents of Ukrainian origin so that the future generation could study the Ukrainian language, literature, history and culture of the nation’s mother.
The Embassy sincerely thanked Sofia and Nadia Balich for the creation of this school, the efforts for its functioning, the concern for Ukrainian children and the desire to teach them everything Ukrainian.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Belgium noted that a significant monument for every Ukrainian in Arlon is to the daughter of the Glorious Prince Yaroslav, the Wise Anna Yaroslavna, opened in 2019.
This monument was part of the Queen’s Way project, which provided for the installation of monuments to Anna of Kyiv in the key cities of Europe, where she stopped on her way to France.
The monument is located near the church of St. Donat, where, in the XI-XVI centuries, the castle of Arlons was located. Likely, Anna Kyiv visited here on the way to France.
The Embassy extended their pleasure. They thanked Arlon and its people for their help, support and concern for Ukraine, Ukrainians and Ukrainian history and culture.
