Despite the ongoing challenges, Crucke announced that the works are now set to conclude earlier than planned. Originally scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, the project’s final phases will be wrapped up a few weeks ahead of schedule, he told the Bel RTL radio network.

“We have, together with SNCB and the Federal Government, added two trains per hour during peak hours between Louvain-la-Neuve and Brussels,” said Crucke. “They are always full.”
Additionally, parking costs at Louvain-la-Neuve have been significantly reduced to encourage more commuters to switch to rail transport.
The daily parking fee has been slashed to just €1, making it a more attractive option for those looking to avoid the congestion.
