Bruges flower lace, also known as Bloemwerk, is a part bobbin lace from the 19th & 20th centuries, evolved from 18th-century Brabant and Brussels part laces. Laces with bars instead of a mesh background were developed in the mid-19th century.

The Lace Museum shared the details about two different floral sprays alternately blossoming over the length of this linen Binche bobbin lace border from Belgium.

This wonderful Brussels Appliqué net lace parasol cover made of linen and silk is from 1880-1889 Belgium. It would have been a very costly item. It was made separately from the parasol and tacked on at the end of the production process.
