Brussels, Belgium: The two-day EU-CELAC summit 2023 in Brussels aims to bring together EU leaders and leaders from (CELAC), the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, scheduled from July 17 to July 18, 2023.
The first meeting after eight years provides an excellent opportunity for exchange and cooperation regarding trade and investment, global peace and stability and combatting climate change.

President of the European Commission, Ursula Vonder Leyen, said, “Europe desires to partner with Latin America and the Caribbean to meet the common interests”.
Von der Leyen emphasizes that the EU planned to invest 45 billion euros in Latin America and the Caribbean to boost its cooperation with Latin and Caribbean regions. Additionally, the EU is the biggest foreign investor in Latin America and the Caribbean.
According to the sources, The European Union: Latin America and Caribbean Foundation (EUโLAC Foundation) is an international organization established in 2010 by the Heads of State and Governments of the European Union (EU), Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) primarily focused on strengthening and promoting the strategic partnership between both regions to improve its visibility and encourage the participation of the respective civil societies.
The Foundation has 61 members: 33 member states from Latin America and the Caribbean, 27 Member States of the European Union, and the European Union itself through its institutions.
The EU and CELAC comprise over a third of UN membership and support a robust multilateral system that upholds the rules-based international order.
