Belgium reports surge in hospital admission due to Covid

In Belgium, the cases of people getting infected by the new variant of COVID-19 have been halted, but the number of the hospital admissions of the patients is constantly increasing.

The figures provided by the Sciensano Public Health Institute on Tuesday depicts the information that in the middle of 22 and 28 January, around 47,815 new cases have been reported of the individuals getting affected by the virus on a per-day basis. Moreover, no increase in the cases has been noticed.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been approximately 73,000 infected individuals have been registered.

Furthermore, the PCR test has been taken regularly, which has increased the number of tests as the maximum 116,047.9 tests were brought.

The number of people getting positive after the test has also been reduced for the first time since the pandemic was started. However, 45.9 percent of the test are noticed as positive.

It is the first time since the new variant is around the corner the number of casualties has been soared every day, as a maximum number of 27.3 patients affected with the COVID variant face death daily. From the previous week, the percentage of death has been recorded as 11 percent.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic has started, the average number of deaths in Belgium has been noticed as 29,052.

A total of 4,081 people have been admitted to the hospital due to the viral infection of Cold-19 on Monday. At the same time, it was 242 more than the previous day due to a slight surge in illness.

Further, the number also includes the parents who have confirmed the novel coronavirus. There were also many patients who were first admitted to the hospital for different reasons but tested positive for covid.
