Vilnius, Lithuania: The long-awaited summit of the North Atlantic Alliance will be held in Vilnius on July 11-12, where a package with three main elements will be agreed to bring Ukraine closer to the bloc.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told this at a press conference on the eve of the summit. “At the summit, we will make Ukraine even stronger and put out visions of its future. I expect the allies to approve a package with three elements to bring Ukraine closer to NATO,” Stoltenberg said.
He said the leaders will agree on a multi-year support program to guarantee full compatibility between the Ukrainian armed forces and NATO.
On July 11 starts the NATO Summit in Vilnius. The Alliance will have the opportunity to make a historic decision: to commit to inviting Ukraine to join NATO as soon as possible.
Today in Lutsk, Ukraine, President of Poland Andrzej Duda met with President Volodymyr Zelensky to give a testimony of friendship in the face of a difficult history, and also to hold final consultations before the NATO summit in Vilnius, which begins in two days. he noted that effective support for Ukraine in its pursuit of membership in the Alliance is very important for Poland.
Together, they participated in a mourning mass in the Cathedral Church of Saints Peter and Paul. The event was dedicated to the memory of the victims of World War II and the 80th anniversary of the Volyn tragedy.
