MEP Asim Ahmed Ademov felt honoured to emphasize that he and his European People’s Party colleagues joined the protest before the European Parliament building in Strasbourg.
He added that, they expressed their support against the law to restore nature together with European farmers from their largest organization, Copa-Kodzeca.
As per the piece of information provided by MEP Asim Ahmed Ademov, The Nature Restoration Act poses a serious threat to EU farmers, putting food security into question and possibly leading to even more inflation.
Furthermore, MEP Asim Ahmed Ademov stated that the people of Bulgaria must consider the social and economic consequences of reducing the treatment of land, forests or marine areas. The farmers must continue to produce as much as possible to help us address the adverse effects of the crises.
MEP Ademov took to his official Facebook account and emphasized, “They deserve our thanks, not criticism.”
According to the sources provided by the update shared by MEP Ademov, Food prices have already increased by more than 20% in some European countries. He further extended that, It is thoroughly irresponsible to reduce food production in any way in such circumstances.
Meanwhile, MEP Ademov shared a piece of information regarding the proposed EnvironmentaL Restoration Act and remarked, “As per the proposed Environmental Restoration Act, the Commission proposes to reduce treatable areas, forests and marine areas by a staggering 10%. The Commission itself admits that this will reduce food production”.
Regarding this update, he also acknowledged the people of Bulgaria and the general people across the country by saying, “We, the European People’s Party, insist not to accept this. We are for nature restoration, but we are strictly against the law for nature restoration in this nature!”
MEP Asim Ahmed Ademov asked the general people of Bulgaria in an attempt to voluntarily unite and protect the Bulgarian farmers’ interests and food security.
