MEP Anna Cinzia Bonfrisco stated the European Parliament hides the responsibilities of the Socialists and NGOs in Qatargate. She also mentioned that the European Parliament rejected Lega’s amendments, which called for transparency on NGOs following Qatargate.
She added, “This vote lays the basis for new European scandals. All European citizens will pay for it, victims of organizations that replace the State.”
After Qatargate, the most serious political scandal in the history of the EU institutions, we hoped that a serious reflection would have begun on the democratic future of the European Parliament.
MEP Bonfrisco further extended that, All of them have worked hard to understand how the House of European Peoples could be a beacon of democracy and the rule of law even brighter.
According to the sources, the text was supposed to defend the institutions instead of closing the loopholes.
Qatargate has become an instrument for the EU that was left to open up old and new instrumental controversies to accuse Italy, the League and Matteo Salvini through facts declared non-existent by the judiciary of Italy as a democratic EU Member State, law and sovereign State.
Furthermore, A controversy made up by the left disappeared from the text on Qatargate voted by the European Parliament. The committee on interference turned the other way instead of understanding the mistakes.
MEP Bonfrisco shared a piece of information and stated, ” he even remained silent on what was reported by authoritative journalists about Qatar’s financing system to mosques in Europe in the debate in the interference committee”.
The PD and the left have been looking for Russian ghosts to attack the League for years. Regarding this, MEP Bonfrisco remarked that the Socialists made amends for the mistakes that they had committed before.
She also said that they were only asking to give European citizens a reason to start again together in the democratic history of the European institutions. Still, they were not able to make it.
