European Commission’s green light: Italy’s greatest achievement says, PM Giorgia Meloni

Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, remarked on Italy’s greatest achievement: the European Commission’s green light to create a unique Special Economic Zone for the southern regions.

PM Giorgia Meloni, regarding her update, mentioned an important breakthrough to strengthen the entire Mezzogiorno by reducing the gaps between the rest of the Nation and the EU.

As per the update shared by PM Meloni, creating a unique Special Economic Zone for the southern regions is the ultimate goal of reducing the gaps between the rest of the Nation and the EU should be achieved by not abandoning the assistant’s logic but by giving job opportunities and growth and making these areas of Italy competitive and attractive for investments and businesses.

The unique ZES goes exactly in the direction and constitutes a changing pace for the southern economy. Through an Interview that the Government had already extended until the end of 2023 and has proven very effective on opening a dialogue with the EU Commission to modify and to make the measure of Southern Noncontributing permanent .

Meanwhile, PM Meloni further highlighted a stand-alone NGO Regulation establishes a clear definition and allows treating prominent, large-scale NGOs like companies with the same reporting obligations.
