Islamabad, Pakistan: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi gave information in which he stated that the former Prime Minister Imran Khan will drag retired Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa into court because of his illegal involvement in ousting his government in 2022.
Pakistan Muslim League leaderย also said that Imran Khan requested an inquiry under Article 6 of the country’s Constitution, as it is his right. As per Article 6 in Constitution, any person who cancels os suspends or holds in suspension the Constitution by use of force or show of power or by any other unconstitutional means shall be guilty of high treason.
According to the report, Abbasi stated that once he became involved in the process, he became equally responsible as the others. He received assistance in achieving his goals during the confidence vote. An investigation should be conducted. However, inquiries should not be carried out in this manner. The military and the government have their own established procedures. Imran’s request relates to Article 6, so he should submit a petition.
Furthermore, he said that Khan had already made many accusations and blamed no one who knew which one should be taken seriously.
On January 10, Khan called an internal inquiry against Bajwa over their alleged admission of being involved in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government’s ouster last year, as per the reports.
Bajwa said in Javed Chaudhry’s column that Crime was not stepping in to save Imran’s govt. He was also quoted “these people are dangerous for the country.”
Khan criticized the former army chief for his remarks about making decisions based on the country’s economic conditions, and called for an internal army inquiry. Chaudhry claimed to have asked the former army chief why he overthrew Khan’s government, but the general denied doing so and instead claimed that Khan had asked the military to save his government. The former army chief reportedly said that he would have continued supporting Khan, but had to make a difficult decision for the good of the country.
