What happens in The Crown Season 2 Episode 4? How does it end?

We return to London and now turn to…more about marriage after four episodes of world travel, scrutiny of the Queen and Edinburgh’s Duke. But with it, we get a perfect dose of Princess Margaret, who gets the bulk of the arc from this episode and goes through paths with a beautiful photographer who soon enters the interior orbit of the palace.

But we’re given ample proof that the younger princess continues to feel unhappy before Margaret and Antony Armstrong- Jones (Matthew Goode) strike up her romance, as she sulks and drinks through a wedding with a relative (where Tony has, incidentally, been photographing) and defeatedly accepted Billy Wallace’s proposal for marriages because he said they are friends and their families would do their thing.

There are marriages in this episode everywhere. Elizabeth and Philip are thinking about what it means to marry for a decade, Premier Macmillan talks about the “special relationships” between the United States and Britain as a marriage of her own kind, and her own marriage also has issues—that he is aware of for decades—and has.

Apart from his imminent commitment, Margaret still longs to break from the monarchy’s stuffy traditions, including stupid portraits of the birthday taken year after year by the same photographer. The looks of the mother, and photographer Cecil Beaton, say the audience wants to see the monarchy are all highlights with elegant towns and flowers worldwide.

And obviously, Billy’s commitment doesn’t go too far — she gets the word he was injured, and she can’t even announce it. She goes over to his home, and he explains why other women have been made aware of him by the words of their imminent nuptials, and everything went to his head.

When her lady-in-waiting invites her for a supper party, a party full of “normal” people, Margaret is lucky enough—so long as none of them breed horses, have a land of their own, or know their mother.
