MEP Anna Cinzia Bonfrisco expressed that burning sacred texts of the Torah, the Bible in Sweden is an intolerable gesture of hate. She also mentioned that authorizing the burning of the Torah, the Bible, or any other sacred text in Sweden is not freedom of thought and expression but a vulgar offence to the religious feelings of believers.

Turkey has made an announcement on Wednesday during the NATO summit in Madrid, about that it would be dropping its opposition to Finland and Sweden's bids to join NATO.
