Brussels witnessed fires and arrests on Tuesday morning ahead of a national union protest. The unrest disrupted traffic across the city, prompting police intervention and condemnation from union leaders who distanced themselves from the acts of vandalism
"Although it is difficult to specify the extent to which these actions will impact public service, the Regional Agency believes that waste collection rounds are likely to suffer from the situation," the agency stated in a press release
