Shooting Incident Rocks Brussels’ Forest Municipality: Young Man Injured in Duden Park

Brussels, February 16, 2024 – In a disturbing turn of events, another shooting incident has rattled the tranquility of Brussels, this time unfolding in the serene confines of Duden Park in the Forest municipality. 

A young man, whose identity remains undisclosed, found himself in the grips of terror as he sustained severe gunshot wounds to his buttocks and hand while watching fireworks on Thursday night.

Eyewitnesses recount the harrowing ordeal, describing the sudden onset of agony that befell the victim around 20:30. 

Promptly, his friends sprang into action, rushing him to Hospital Saint Pierre in the City of Brussels, where the grim reality of his injuries was laid bare – inflicted by none other than a handgun.

The Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police, tasked with documenting the incident, have acknowledged its occurrence but have deferred to the Brussels’ Public Prosecutor’s Office for further insights into the ongoing investigation. 

The Public Prosecutor’s Office, however, has chosen to remain tight-lipped, declining any comments at this juncture.

While the severity of the young man’s injuries is undeniable, there is a glimmer of relief in the assurance that his life is not hanging in the balance.
