MEP Sylwia Spurek shares her views on the voting of the European Parliament for amendments to the Industrial Emissions Directive. She also mentioned that calling this revision a game-changer takes a lot of work.
As per the update shared by MEP Sylwia Spurek, The ambitions of the European Commission project have weakened.
She further extended, The project introduces a number of reforms, such as increasing the number thresholds for farm animals.
Furthermore, The current thresholds determine the minimum number of animals the farm must own to comply with the directive’s regulations.
MEP Spurek also shared an example regarding the number of animals on the farm, She stated that, “A farm must own at least 14,000 so-called hens. carrying or 28 000 tzw broilers to be covered by the directive and all farms with fewer animals will not be considered industrial.”
Meanwhile, The laws that the directive covers should not apply to them. MEP Spurek questioned to the law that, “the negotiations brought a compromise, but at what price? Who will gain from this? Do we really believe that 25 thousand chickens are an unindustrial, harmless and viable farm?”
MEP Spurek took to her official Facebook account and provided brief informtion regarding the ban on animal breeding and a vegan world.
She expressed her emotions through words and stated, “we can no longer settle for minimum changes needed to reduce methane and ammonia emissions truly.”
Through her update, MEP Spurek makes the general people of Poland acknowledge and recall their goal as the people of Poland. As a human, they should understand that they should make significant changes from the current situation and purposefully ban animal breeding and a vegan world.
