A 40-year-old German palliative care doctor is facing charges of murdering at least 15 of his patients with a cocktail of lethal drugs, sparking widespread shock and outrage in the medical community.
Prosecutors in Berlin have accused the doctor of using his position to secretly administer dangerous drugs to his victims, ultimately causing their deaths.
The doctor, whose identity remains undisclosed due to strict privacy laws in Germany, is alleged to have killed 12 women and three men between September 2021 and July 2024.

In the woman’s case, it is claimed that the doctor attempted to start a fire to conceal the crime, but the fire failed to ignite. He reportedly then contacted a relative of the woman, falsely claiming that no one had answered his calls when he arrived at her apartment.
The case first came to light in August 2024 when the doctor was arrested under suspicion of killing four people in his care.
However, ongoing investigations have uncovered additional suspicious deaths, leading to the exhumation of several bodies for further forensic examination. Prosecutors have stated that they believe the number of victims could increase as more deaths are reviewed.
