UAE: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, renames Al Minhad as Hind City

Dubai [UAE]: The UAE’s Vice President, Prime Minister, and ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, renamed the Al Minhad district and its surrounding areas as ‘Hind City’ on Sunday, as per the official reports.

The city is divided into four zones and includes homes for UAE residents.

The city is connected by key roadways such as Emirates Road, Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road, and Dubai-Al Ain Road.

Following the instructions of Dubai Ruler, the Al Minhad region and the surrounding areas have been given the new name of ‘Hind City’.

It is not the only instance of renaming occurring in Dubai. Previously, in 2010, the Burj Dubai was changed to Burj Khalifa in honor of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the then President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, who sadly passed away on May 13, 2022.

He is the third offspring of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who was the past vice president and ruler of Dubai. Subsequent to his senior sibling Maktoum’s death in 2006, Mohammed became the new vice president and ruler.
