A major charity concert in support of the Palestinian cause, titled “Together for Palestine,” is set to take place on Saturday, 8 February, at Les Halles de Schaerbeek in Brussels.
The event, announced by its organisers on Wednesday, aims to raise both public awareness of the ongoing crisis in Gaza and much-needed funds for the NGO Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
The organisation is dedicated to improving the health and dignity of the Palestinian people by providing medical care, humanitarian aid, and advocacy.
The concert will feature approximately 30 artists, many of whom are known for their commitment to social causes and have expressed solidarity with Palestine.
Among the performers are prominent musicians such as Baloji, Caballero & Jeanjass, Fianso, Noé Preszow, and Rori.
These artists will take to the stage to help raise funds for MAP’s life-saving initiatives, which are particularly crucial given the current medical and humanitarian challenges faced by the people in Gaza.
“The situation in Gaza remains dire, and this concert is a way for us to show our support and raise funds for those in need,” said one of the event organisers.
“We are very grateful for the generous participation of these artists, whose music has the power to unite people from all walks of life in solidarity for this cause.”
In addition to the performances, the event will include various activities designed to engage attendees and inform them about the situation in Gaza.
Information booths and presentations on MAP’s work in Palestine will be available to provide insight into the organisation’s mission and its ongoing efforts to deliver medical care and humanitarian assistance to the region.
The concert at Les Halles de Schaerbeek comes on the heels of another high-profile event in support of Palestine held at the Zénith in Paris in May 2023.
That event, which attracted nearly 7,000 attendees, raised significant funds and brought attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Building on the success of the Paris concert, the Brussels event is expected to draw a large crowd of music fans, activists, and supporters of the Palestinian cause.
Tickets for the event are expected to sell out quickly, given the star-studded lineup and the strong sense of community among those attending.
All proceeds from the concert will go towards supporting the ongoing work of MAP, which has been providing essential medical supplies and healthcare services in Palestine for over 30 years.
As the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical, organisers hope that the concert will not only provide much-needed financial assistance but also amplify the voices of those who are working tirelessly to provide relief to Palestinians in need.
By bringing together a diverse group of artists and activists, “Together for Palestine” aims to send a powerful message of unity and solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The concert is expected to attract a large, diverse audience eager to show their support for Palestine and contribute to the ongoing efforts to provide healthcare, dignity, and hope to the people of Gaza.
