BRUSSELS – Authorities were called to a post office in the centre of Brussels on Tuesday afternoon after a suspicious letter containing an unknown powder was discovered, prompting a swift emergency response and the isolation of ten people inside the building.
The incident occurred on Lakensestraat, near the Brucity building and De Brouckèreplein. Several media outlets reported the discovery, which was later confirmed by the Brussels Fire Brigade.
Emergency services were alerted around 5 p.m., with firefighters and police officers rushing to the scene. As a precautionary measure, law enforcement established a security perimeter around the post office, preventing public access while ensuring the safety of those inside.
