September 27 marks UCL debut for PSG star Kylian Mbappe

Paris, France: Kylian Mbappe, the PSG star, made his Champions League debut on September 27, 2023. At that time, he was playing for French club AS Monaco. Mbappe debuted for Monaco in a Ligue 1 match against S.M. Caen on December 2, 2015.

Since that day, he played 62 UCL games, scoring 41 goals and 28 assists. The 2018 FIFA World Cup Winner made some astonishing records in Champions League history. He became the youngest footballer to score 10 UCL goals and the youngest to score 40.

Mbappe also ranks 18th in all-time top scorer. Although Mbappe didn’t win the UCL trophy playing six seasons for French club ‘Paris Saint Germain’, he contributed a lot to the club in UCL matches. Season 2019/20 was the last time he came so close to winning the UCL trophy. He scored 5 UCL goals in that season.

Mbappe has scored two Champions League Hattricks against Belgian club Brugge and Spanish giant Barcelona. Both of them were scored on away ground.

Mbappe’s first UCL hattrick seals a 5-0 victory for PSG in season 2019/20 and second hattrick at Camp Nou, winning the away UCL game (4-1) in season 2020/21 and advancing to the UCL round of 16.

Kylian Mbappe recently scored another UCL goal against German club Borussia Dortmund when the referee awarded PSG a penalty in 49th minute. He perfectly seized the opportunity and scored the penalty, putting his team ahead in the game.

His teammate Achraf Hakimi scored the second goal in 58th minute, doubling the lead. Paris Saint Germain won their first UCL group stage match of season 2023/24.

Kylian Mbappe has now scored 4 goals and delivered 1 assist in 5 matches against Dortmund. Before UCL 2023, Kylian Mbappe faced Dortmund in the UCL round of 16 season 2019-20. They eliminated Haland’s Dortmund and advanced to quarterfinals.
