Islamabad, Pakistan: According to the Pak Military Monitor, the security forces stationed in the tribal area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan are extremely concerned about the continuous and unparalleled assaults they are facing from the extremist organization known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The Pak Military Monitor has reported that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a militant group that the Pakistan Army previously supported, is now targeting Pakistani security forces after a truce fell through in November 2022.

The TTP has been carrying out surprise attacks on security forces using tactics such as motorbike riding, rocket and grenade attacks, remote-controlled bombs, and suicide attacks. They have also targeted police checkposts and stations, beheaded security personnel, and attacked their residences.

This has resulted in the deaths of more than 125 police personnel and injuries to over 200 of them this year, causing fear and helplessness among the force.

The failure of the army and civilian leadership to detect the return of the TTP to Pakistan has allowed the group to gain strength and become more powerful. Multiple military operations in the past had forced the TTP to flee to Afghanistan, where they joined the Taliban war and gained tactics and experience against the US-led forces.

The TTP is now more powerful than ever, and a conflict with them could potentially involve the Afghan Taliban, China, and the US, leading to a larger war that Pakistan cannot afford at this crisis-laden juncture.
