MEP Sylwia Spurek shared a glimpse of meetings held with representatives of the European Commission and the Council regarding the directive of combating violence against women and domestic violence. She also mentioned that she has already informed the general people of Poland that they have long trilogies ahead in this case.
She added that this legislation is a great chance for European women to better protect against gender-based violence.
MEP Spurek took to her official Facebook account and stated, “Before the summer break, we are working intensively on the second edition of ‘Our Convention’.”
She added, “The first part of the publication with an illustrative inscription for the Istanbul Convention was translated for the first time into Polish almost two years ago.”

From the book, the general people of Poland will also learn how the process of accession of the European Union to the Convention went, and the Book premiere will start after the Parliament’s summer break!
MEP Spurek extended her update by giving the reference to the case of treatment of Mrs Joanna’s Police revealed this week stated, “I want to say that as long as the human right to abortion is not treated normally and in purpose just like other rights, such as the right to court or freedom of speech, as long as politicians, officials, doctors will be taking away from women dignity, endangering their health and lives.”
Furthermore, at the European Commission’s request, the independent Science Advice for Policy by European Academies published a report about sustainable food consumption.
As per the report, the current food system is the main cause of the deepening climate crisis, biodiversity loss, water scarcity, eutrophication and soil degradation, and the recommendations emphasize that the transition to a plant-based food system is key.
According to the sources, this week, a hearing was held as part of a meeting of the LIBE Commission, also called ban conversion therapy. The Commissioner of Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Dunja Mijatovic, attended the meeting.
In the 21st century, in the European Union, there should be no room for such unethical, anti-science “therapies”, and LGBTIQ people should have firm guarantees for realizing human rights.
