But now, they are not in the same team. In 2022, Casemiro left Real Madrid and joined Manchester United. Football fans witnessed another legendary clash between two football giants during the pre-season friendly match.
The last time they faced each other was in 2014 in Michigan, United States, where a record-breaking number of 109,318 football fans showed up in Michigan Stadium. ‘Red Devils’ triumphed over ‘The Whites’ by 3-1. Today, Real Madrid sealed victory by 2-0 and equalized head-to-head stats with the Premier League Giant.
Since 2013, Read Madrid and Manchester United have faced each other six times, including two victories, two losses and two draws for both sides. The legendary rivalry has entered a new phase with new players.
The game went excellent for Real Madrid as their two debut players scored iconic goals. The British fielder, Jude Bellingham, scored astonishingly against United’s new goalkeeper Onana.
Joselu’s bicycle kick goal in last minutes of the game will be remembered for years. Assisted by Vázquez, he scored a beautiful goal by performing acrobatics giving no chance to Onana to respond.
On the other side, things didn’t go as planned for United. The ‘Red Devils’ were seen struggling against Madrid, and football fans were angry with Lisandro Martinez for his tackle on Jude Bellingham. They have a heated argument for a minute but are later stopped by Mount.
After the final whistle, Bellingham and Martinez shook hands and wished success for the rest of the season.
