The Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in the Philippines is seeking to recruit an eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Consular Officer. The Consular Officer will work with a team led by the Consul.
The main responsibility includes:
- Being principally active in providing consular assistance and services to Belgian nationals – such as processing official documents.
- Providing aid to Belgian nationals.
- Assessing civil status cases.
- Conducting client interviews.

EMPLOYER
The Belgian Embassy in the Philippines is staffed by both Belgian and Filipino national employees. Its jurisdiction covers the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
PROFILE REQUESTED
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Tertiary education in social sciences, international studies, law, or other relevant courses
• At least two years of relevant professional experience – preferably with embassies or international organizations
• Good knowledge of French and Dutch will be considered an asset
• Familiarity with local legislation and procedures
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
• Excellent command of English – written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work as a team player
• Be service-oriented
PRACTICAL DETAILS
• Gross monthly salary: PHP 56.273.50
• Full-time; 1 year local contract (renewable)
• Estimated starting date: 5 October 2023
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Shortlisted applicants will take a computer-based test regarding consular situations and be interviewed regarding technical and behavioural skills and motivation this coming week. Administrative questions can be discussed during the interview.
