Belgium: The Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Singapore congratulated the compatriot, Raphaël Liégeois, who has been selected by the European Space Agency to be part of future spaceflights.
They took to their official social media account and shared their good wishes to him, as well as they highlighted, “Congratulations to our compatriot, Raphaël Liégeois, who has been selected by the European Space Agency to be part of future spaceflights.”
Along with this, Raphaël is a distinguished biomedical engineer who specializes in brain dynamics in health and disease. He is delighted to learn that Singapore is very familiar to the Belgian astronaut recruit. Between 2015-2017, he spent two years at the National University of Singapore in post-doctoral research activities.
Singapore was also his starting point when in 2017, he and his wife completed a four months cycling trip to Belgium to meet poets across Asia and Europe. As an ambitious player in space exploration, Belgium has recently augmented its contribution to the European Space Agency.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium stated that they are looking forward to developing economic and research activities that are driven by the space sector. They are fully sure that the selection of Raphaël Liégeois will boost as well as uplift many young individuals that will be attracted by science as well as space to begin studies in STEM as well as gain excellence in their domains.
On the other hand, they shared another update on gender-biased violence on November 25, Friday because the UN General Assembly has designated November 25 as the International Day for Elimination of Violence against females 2022.
There are so many women who face physical abuse and sexual violence on a daily basis by their own partners. Also, crime against females is more common all over the world, according to the UN.
Furthermore, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium outlined that combatting these brutalities against women is the top priority in the foreign policy of Belgium.
